It is a rare thing that one finds one’s heart’s desire at a trade show. Why? Because we, Orion girls, don’t have one, but many desires! In other words, not just for a gem, but also for a country and most importantly, for a meeting. Like you, we covered every square inch of the Brongniart Palace, which was home to the Printor Paris show last September. The stands paraded the latest jewellery and watches of each exhibitor and suddenly, there was a stall alive with the colours of Africa. Right at the back stood a (stuffed) African animal. On the floor was an old trunk, bursting with jewellery, and all around were open cases; necklaces in charming shapes floated delicately for all to see and touch, a surreal, out of this world experience for the Paris Bourse. An incredible, poignantly charismatic woman invited us in and with our eyes full of wonder, we were compelled to stay and drink in the words of Princess Esther Kamatair and the designer, Kamatari Junior. This is the beginning of an incredible saga for Brown Prince Jewellery.
